Printable Map ROUTE & PARKING

Where do people park as we gather at Shaw? (Parking)
Please see the attached map that shows parking, mostly in decks along Wilmington and Blount Streets

What is the time span for the event?
Gather at 9:30, begin march at 10:30, program begins by 11 and then an hour and a half (though we're trying to cut it down this year).

When we march from Shaw to the Capitol, how long is the walk? is it less than a mile?
It is a little less than a mile. There are trams that can transport people back and forth.

At the Capitol, is there seating, bathroom accommodation, etc.?
Yes, and some seating at the beginning as well.

What exactly is the agenda for the day?  What happens when people arrive at the Capitol?
There is live music and dynamic speakers at the Capitol. The legislature is scheduled, could come back in February for a vote on the Racial Justice Act, and a short session in May, so we'll still be pushing the 14-Point Legislative Agenda

Can people bring along their dogs to walk, as they bring their children and family members?
This is a little tricky, but it is not recommended as it is a crowded space, and there are a number people (and children) who may not be comfortable around dogs in close proximity.

After the event, does everyone walk back to where they parked?
Most people do walk back, but there are trams as well.

Will people who attend receive anything that gives them particular questions or charges to bring to their State House and Senate representatives?
Your students should look out for "Passports" which will be handed out to the crowd with information on the current state of affairs in NC, the Agenda and future steps.

What is the followup plan?
Some of that will be covered at the program, and now that we have your email, you can stay connected to the movement.
