Reinvestment Partners a nonprofit agency advocating for economic justice and opportunity, is currently seeking a Bi-lingual Receptionist to further the capacity of the organization.

Description:
The receptionist must be proficient in English and Spanish and will be responsible for managing a multi-line phone system, client intake and assessment for multiple in-house programs, maintaining the calendars for appointments, public events, and staff meetings, and some duties as the English/Spanish translator for clients and agency documents. In addition to these receptionist duties, they will assist all departments with copying, scanning, and distribution of materials as needed. Other work related duties may also be assigned including assistance in coordinating and attending outreach activities for in-house programs.

NC AIDS Action Network seeks Community Organizer

The North Carolina AIDS Action Network (NCAAN) seeks qualified candidates to join our team as a Community Organizer.

The ideal candidate(s) will demonstrate:

  • A successful record of at least one year as a community/field organizer for issue and/or candidate campaigns;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Self-motivation and problem-solving skills required to work effectively with limited direct supervision;
  • Track-record of meeting or exceeding supporter ID goals;
  • Ability to recruit, train, retain, and mentor volunteers;
  • Commitment to grassroots leadership development;
  • Cultural competencies to work with communities disproportionately affected by HIV/AIDS in North Carolina, including communities of color, low-income populations, men who have sex with men, transgender people, youth, women, injection drug users, and rural populations, especially in eastern North Carolina;
  • Commitment to advancing the mission of the North Carolina AIDS Action Network;
  • Knowledge of campaign database management tools, especially Salsa and VAN;
  • Reliable transportation & valid driver’s license;
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends.

Lower Neuse RIVERKEEPER (LNRK) - The Neuse RIVERKEEPER® Foundation

The Neuse RIVERKEEPER® Foundation (NRF) is seeking a qualified, highly motivated individual to fill the job of Lower Neuse RIVERKEEPER® (LNRK). The LNRK is primarily responsible for developing and implementing programs that remove pollution from the waters of the lower Neuse basin, block new sources of pollution, and educate NRF volunteers and the public on water quality issues and best practices. The LNRK reports to the NRF Executive Director, and is the primary public representative and spokesperson for the NRF in the lower Neuse watershed. The position is located in New Bern, NC.
 
 
 
*Duties & responsibilities of the LNRK include:*
 
- Serve as a full time public advocate for the Neuse River, monitoring, documenting and reporting environmentally harmful activity and advising the public and agencies on enforcement actions, remediation and habitat enhancement.
- Work in a closely coordinated fashion with the ED and the Upper Neuse RIVERKEEPER® on basin-wide issues.
- Develop networks for problem reporting and collaboration among the citizens of the lower Neuse and appropriate government organizations.
- Serve as the NRF representative at city, county, state and federal meetings and hearings involving the lower Neuse.
- Proactively identify emerging developments, regulations, rules and trends that may affect the Neuse.
- Serve as an expert resource to federal, state, and local agencies on permit reviews. Comment on public, private, and governmental activities that may impact the Neuse.
- Coordinate litigation activities on behalf of the NRF when litigation is necessary to address water quality issues.
- Manage NRF staff and volunteer groups, as appropriate, to execute work plans and achieve program objectives.
- Maintain a presence on the river to investigate pollution issues and support volunteer activities.
- Support the development activities of the NRF with work program development, grant writing, and donor visits as needed.
- Actively participate in WATERKEEPER® Alliance activities.
 
* The successful candidate will:*
 
- Have a thorough understanding of environmental and regulatory issues that affect water quality.
- An advanced degree in environmental science or a related field is a plus, but is not required. Equivalent experience may be accepted in place of a degree.
- Have well-developed social skills; excellent written and speaking skills.
- Be excellent at organization and time management. Have the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Be comfortable with frequent use of personal computer software and hardware, including MS Office, shared networks, and online communication tools
- Be a self-starter and a strategic thinker.
- Be comfortable around the water and in operating a variety of watercraft.
 
 
 
*Compensation: *The starting salary for this job is $30,000 per year, with significant opportunities for advancement and professional development. Health, dental, and life insurance benefits are included.
