Tell Governor Perdue: Veto Discrimination!

The integrity of the North Carolina judicial system is under attack. Can you pledge to call Governor Perdue and urge her to veto Senate Bill 9?

On Monday, the State Senate passed SB9-NO DISCRIMINATORY PURPOSE IN DEATH PENALTY. If passed, SB9 would effectively repeal the historic Racial Justice Act of 2009, which allows courts to review statistical evidence to ensure that race has not played a role in capital punishment sentences.

We know that racial prejudice has played a bloody role in North Carolina's history. The Racial Justice Act seeks to keep prejudice out of North Carolina courtrooms. Pledge to contact Governor Perdue's office and urge her to veto SB9 today.
